Short synopsis:
After passing a small settlement, Tane and Jewel fall ill with a deadly plague, soon followed by Goneril and Eden. Maddie and Yves suggest that in order to complete their mission, the Fantasia must split; the healthy continuing to Newton, the sick staying behind. Travelling onwards, however, Garland realises that with the help of the silver girl, she may be able to help Goneril, Tane, Eden and Jewel. Returning to them, she convinces Boomer and Timon to come with her to a place called ‘Apothecary – Nidus’. Can they find a cure here? And will they be able to evade Ozul and Maska again?

After passing a very small settlement, Tane and Jewel fall ill with a deadly plague. At this point, Garland sees the silver girl again, who spells out the word ‘Nidus’ to her, but it means nothing to her or anyone else. Goneril, who tries to nurse them back to health, soon falls ill as well. Taking time to make a difficult decision, Maddie and Yves suggest that the Fantasia split – the healthy continue to Newton, whilst the sick stay behind. They fear that if they do not do this, they will fail to bring the solar converter back to Solis before the solstice, and fail their quest. Reluctantly, the Fantasia agree, but Boomer, Timon and Eden stay behind. Garland pleads with Maddie to allow her to stay behind, but Maddie does not allow it.

Travelling onwards, Garland notices ‘Apothecary – Nidus’ on the map. Not only could this be the Nidus the silver girl was telling her about, but also apothecary sounds surprisingly similar to ‘Appoca’s Theory’, which Goneril was talking about earlier. Realising that the key to her problems must lie at the apothecary, Garland makes a jump from the vehicle and returns to Goneril and the others.

Telling the others of what the silver girl told her, and what she has seen on the map, Garland persuades Timon and Boomer to come with her to the apothecary. On the way, they find they need to cross volcanically-active swampland. At the apothecary, they find Nidus – dead in his bed. They also find shelves and shelves of bottles, full of various liquids. Garland convinces the others that one must be the cure for the plague.

Meanwhile, Ozul and Maska stumble upon Garland’s caravan. They capture Eden and Jewel, and Ozul contact the Nennog to inform him of this victory. Outraged that they do not have Timon, the Nennog commands Ozul not to contact him again until he has all three children. Ozul sends Maska to find Timon, whilst he guards Goneril, Tane, Eden and Jewel.

At the apothecary Boomer find the cure. On the way out, however, they find Maska. Boomer manages to run away with the cure, but Maska captures Garland and Timon. At that point, a volcanic jet of acid, from the swamp, hits Maska allowing Garland and Timon to escape.

Back at the camp, Ozul tries to take the cure from Boomer, but Garland and Timon arrive, as do Maddie and the rest of the Fantasia, who are looking for Garland. Realising they are outnumbered, Ozul and Maska go away. The cure takes the plague from Goneril, Tane, Eden and Jewel, and the Fantasia continue to Newton in perfect health.
