Full episode recap:
With two days to reach Solis, the Fantasia must cross the lake to continue their journey. Contained within the lake is a ferocious monster, the Taniwha, and so the Fantasia perform in Laketown to gain guides to help them cross. Boomer spots him, and tries to stop him. Timon resists, so Boomer grabs his arm. As he does so, energy surges from Timon, burning Boomer and repelling him violently. Timon gets away, and goes to Ozul and Maska, who have the communicator. He tells the Nennog that he has what he believes to be the talisman – Garland’s old diary. He sends it to the Nennog, and then takes the communicator from Ozul and Maska, saying that it is too risky for him to leave the Fantasia again. Ozul and Maska, not happy that Timon seems to be so well in with the Nennog, plan to betray him.

Having enjoyed the performance, the Laketowners agree to guide the Fantasia across the lake. They must wait until nightfall, as they are less likely to disturb the Taniwha at this time. Garland returns to her truck, only to find it ransacked. Eden notices that Garland’s diary is missing, and asks Timon, who has just arrived, where it is. Timon accuses Eden of knowing things about the talisman that he does not. He challenges Eden to do some magic, as he believes that without the diary Eden will be powerless. At this point, Boomer notices that his Birdboy wings have been sabotaged, and he accuses Timon. Timon and Boomer square up and prepare to fight, but Eden uses his powers to stop Timon.

After dark, the Laketowners collect the Fantasia. The vehicles are to go on a powered launch, as they are less precious and the noise of the launch motors may attract the Taniwha. The adults go on one raft, the children on another. The children’s guide take them to the centre of the lake and stops. Out of the mist row Ozul and Maska – it was a trap. Ozul thanks the guide, and tells him to pass Garland, Boomer, Lilith, Eden and Jewel over. Timon, he says, is to be thrown into the lake for the Taniwha. Not sure what to do, Garland pushes the guide in. Maska jumps over and wrestles Garland, but they both fall in. Timon reaches a hand out for Garland, but in doing so shows her his wrist – it is scaled. Shocked, she scrambles back onto the raft, but is followed out of the water by a huge, serpent-like monster – the Taniwha. Just as their fate seems certain, Jewel starts to babble, and the Taniwha seems to understand – it bites hold of a rope, and tows the raft to the other side of the lake.

When they reach the shore, Timon is fuming. He realises now that Jewel is special – she is the talisman. He confronts Eden with this, and demands to know why Eden kept it from him. Eden states that Timon has changed. Clutching Jewel for safety, Eden tells Lilith to wake him should he fall asleep. Later on, however, when Eden is asleep, Goneril innocently tells Lilith to leave him be. Timon grabs his chance, and takes Jewel and the communicator into the forest. Garland and Boomer notice his disappearance, and start to pursue. Timon tells the Nennog of Jewel being the talisman, and asks if he should transport her to him. The Nennog states that it is too risky, and asks Timon to destroy her himself. As he bends over Jewel, Garland takes aim with her bow. Noticing this, Timon cries out to her to shoot him quickly. He states that he is turning into a monster, and shows her his chest, which is now also scaled, like the Nennog. He tells her that once his parents were captured, the Nennog injected him with a virus containing his DNA – Timon is now becoming the Nennog’s heir.

Garland takes Timon and Jewel back to the Fantasia, and tells them what Timon has told her. Boomer suggests that Timon is wiped (killed), but this is against the Fantasia code. Meanwhile, Goneril takes Jewel to her truck, but finds Maska there waiting. He demands the baby. The Fantasia decide on a course of action – they chain Timon tightly to a post, and will leave him there until they succeed in their mission for Solis. There is suddenly a large explosion from the camp. Goneril comes running, distraught, wailing that they have taken Jewel…
