This is a fansite dedicated to Eoin Colfer's "Artemis Fowl" series and is maintained by Kitty Rainbow. If you have any questions or comments you can email me, although I would recommend that you check out the FAQ first as you may find an answer there more quickly.

Yes, shock horror, I'm still alive! Unfortunately my health has pretty much hit rock bottom and it doesn't look like I'll be improving any time soon either. That said, although frequent updates are unlikely in the near future, I am not closing the site down. I still hope to be able to return it to full working order eventually. But that may not be for a while so please bear with me during this difficult time.
Oh, and I do have some actual new content for you today. Now that the new issue of The Observatory is out, I can upload my drabble from the previous round of Guess The Author, as well as the other ones I've written since August. So, here they are: Domestic Issues, Jolly Juliet, Just A Normal Girl, New Directions and Psychosomatism.

I've just added to the tour page the three new events that I also posted today in Eye on Fowl. Check them out quickly because hopefully one will be near you! And if you can get to one, why not send me any stories or photos from the event? I'll put them up on the tour page with credit to you! (And if you can't get to these events - don't worry, I'm sure Eoin Colfer will be doing more events later!)
I also added the article about Jim Sheridan to the interviews page... well, it does have some quotes from Colfer.

Just a little update for you today. Those of you who read Eye on Fowl (which should be all of you! ;P ) will know that Puffin is currently running a competition in conjunction with Waterstones for which you have to crack a Gnommish code. Well, even if you haven't managed to pick up one of the leaflets yet, you can still get started on that codebreaking because I've scanned it for you.

The Lost Colony was released in the UK & Ireland today, so here's a whole load of TLC content for you: a translation of the code, 12 icons, 1 wallpaper and all of the TLC covers from around the world.
The Lost Colony page has had a little update, and there are new dates on the Eoin Colfer signing tours page too. And thanks to Keikolilo, I've added another interview to the list.

Sorry for making you all wait such a long time for an update. Unfortunately, even though my exams are over, my health still isn't that good and I've been going through a bad patch. In fact I still am, really, so I can't guarantee massive daily updates like those I'd love to give you. But I suspect you'd rather have a few smaller updates more often than one big update just when you've given up on me, right? So I'll try to get one or two little things up per week, if nothing else.
However it's not all bad news. Whilst I've been huddled in my dark corner, I've been slowly working on the rest of the quote icons set that I was doing. (At the rate of about half an icon per day!) So here you are: 13 Arctic Incident icons, 12 Eternity Code icons and 12 Opal Deception icons.
25/06/06 -
Well, I was right! I've got another 16 icons for you today (each with a different quote from the first book) so we have hit the 100 icons mark. But don't worry, I'm not planning on stopping until I've done a quotes batch for each of the books, so they'll be coming for a while yet.
And for a little bit of variety, here's two fanfics: Anodyne, a drabble, and Subterfuge, a double drabble (i.e. 200 words instead of 100). Probably more of these coming soon too!
24/06/06 -
My exams are all over now, so bumper updates may begin! To start the ball rolling, I've put up 20 new icons (5 designs, each with 4 variations) all with general quotes from the series. Only 5 more icons before I hit the big one hundred... I'm sure that'll be happening very soon, probably tomorrow!
If anyone has any requests for icons, don't forget there's a special thread in the forums for that - and you don't even have to sign up to post.

You might've heard whisperings around the fandom lately about a project between a few of the fansites: to produce an Artemis Fowl podcast. Mesmerised is one of those involved and the first installment of "FowlCast" is now available for listening! Check out the FowlCast page for download links and info, and remember to keep an eye out for future editions because it's only going to get better.
Mesmerised passed the 5000 visitor mark a few days ago, so thanks a lot to everyone who's visited! I haven't had many updates recently because I'm currently taking Big Scary Exams, but rest assured that once the weekend comes around and they're all over, I'll have the time to get loads more great content on here. Something for you all to look forward to...

I've added two new bits of fanart to the site today:
Winona Ryder as Holly Short and a short, silly and, err, slightly questionable comic about Angeline and Artemis Fowl I. If you want to see more fanart (people don't often ask for it) be sure to let me know.
30/05/06 -
Wow, Mesmerised just seems to be racking up the exclusives and firsts at the moment. Now we're the first fansite to bring you translations of the four new coded messages that were included in the recently republished UK paperbacks of the series. Sadly there's no hints about the upcoming books but they're still funny to read: Artemis Fowl, The Arctic Incident, The Eternity Code and The Opal Deception. Enjoy!

As promised, here is all of the media I've collected about Eoin Colfer's UK tour in April. There are loads of merchandise pictures, photographs from Fowl Friday and even some exclusive videos.
And as if that wasn't enough, there's also an exclusive interview with Eoin Colfer!
I've now also made a tour page, which will contain all information about upcoming events and media about ones passed. If you have anything you want to send in, including an account of going to an event, please do so.

I've been waiting to do my fics upload in the hope that I could get a particular one finished and put it up with the rest, but I've now had yet another delay with that one. Rather than make you wait any longer, here's the rest of the fics: Family Tree, Heir, Hidden Agenda, Kindred, Partial and (only for the brave/insane among you) Erato and Melpomene in Conflict. The missing fic, Undercurrents, should be along fairly soon.
I've also updated the interviews page to include a link to Artemis Fowl Confidential's new interview with Eoin Colfer. And, in case you haven't noticed, I've put up mini-banners for the two main subsections of the site: Eye on Fowl and the forums, which should make it more easy for people to find them.
Next thing scheduled to be updated: all of the media from Eoin Colfer's tour in April. Yes, I know, it's taken me a while - but when you see the huge amount of stuff I have for it, you'll understand why it took so long to organise!
08/05/06 -
After all the news that we've had recently, a few of the site pages needed to be updated to include it all. So now the Lost Colony page, movie info page, other Colfer books page, FAQ and the covers page are all in top condition. (And there's a couple of new international Opal Deception covers for you to check out as well!) With that done, you won't have long to wait before I make some real site updates... Expect a whole load of new fics coming very soon!
29/04/06 -
Added three new interviews to the list: The Reading Room, Yorkshire Post Today and The Scotsman. And thanks to everyone for visiting - we've now had over 4,000 hits!
04/04/06 -
The new version of ArtemisFowl.co.uk launched today. Among other things, it includes a playable game called Escape From Fowl Manor. In case you need a bit of help with it, Mesmerised now has a strategy guide and a walkthrough. Happy playing!

Everything went a bit crazy around April Fool's Day... Besides lots of joke news, there's been some real news: a new synopsis for "The Lost Colony", an interview with Eoin Colfer and the publication in the US of "Half-Moon Investigations" (Colfer's new non-Artemis book).
I've added the interview to the interviews section, and there's four new pieces in the fanart section including the fake cover for "The Lost Colony" that I made for April Fool's Day.
27/03/06 -
By kind permission of Artemis Fowl Confidential's webmaster, there's now a link in our videos section to their fan trailer for the AF movie. Check it out - even without clips from the movie they've managed to put something together!
I've also added two interviews to the list.
26/03/06 -
Sorry about the lack of updates, I'm still rather under the weather at the moment. But to make it up to you, there's a bumper upload today. I've added 11 new wallpapers - with Skandar Keynes as Artemis Fowl, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba and Natalie Portman as Holly Short, plus Jessica Alba as Juliet Butler - which means that Mesmerised now has a grand total of 75 wallpapers! Wow!
There's also the grand opening of a new section: funny lists. And to start it off is the very first submission to the site, made by Michelle - You Are Obsessed With Artemis Fowl When You... Anyone else who'd like to contribute a list, just send it in.
13/03/06 -
I've been working on some layout changes for a little while, and it's finally ready to go. I hope everyone likes it and finds it easier to use.
Unfortunately the navigation bar only appears on the front page - but there isn't any way to get it onto every page that wouldn't be incredibly time-consuming for me to update each time. (And I'm sure you'd rather I spent my time making new content rather than fiddling about with it!)
It also allows more space for the updates, so from now on I'll be able to give you a lot more information about what's new on the site and what'll be coming soon. On that subject, expect some new fanfics within the next couple of days...
And I'd like to take this opportunity to say that we do accept submissions for fun & media content, for everything except fanfics and fanart (visit Criminality instead, which I help to run). You'll get credit for anything posted. So if you'd like to contribute something, please email me about it.

There are two new interviews from this January listed on the interviews page now, both with lots of interesting information that hasn't come up before. Read a little summary at Eye on Fowl or check them out in the interviews section.
28/02/06 -
Added a page for each of the Artemis Fowl books with details on release dates, ISBNs, page numbers and so on... including the forthcoming fifth book!
27/02/06 -
Added five new icons of Keira Knightley as Holly, plus three more of my fanfics: "Exaltation", "Green/Jade" and "Possibilities".
